Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones

To send and receive files between two BlackBerry® smartphones using Bluetooth® wireless technology, complete the following steps:

On the recipient's BlackBerry smartphone

BlackBerry 6 has a universal receive mode for all paired and trusted devices. When two BlackBerry smartphones have been paired, a smartphone running BlackBerry 6 can receive files at any time as long as the two smartphones are in range of each other, and the other paired Bluetooth device is trusted.

Once a file has been sent from a trusted device to a smartphone running BlackBerry 6, the user will receive the following prompt to save the file as well as provide a file name:

Please choose the location where you wish to save the file.

Note: In order to determine the origin of incoming Bluetooth connections, ensure that paired smartphones are configured to prompt and not set to trust.

On the sender's BlackBerry smartphone

On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, select Media. Choose the media typed desired to send (Music, Videos, Pictures, Ring Tones, or Voice Notes). Highlight the file to be sent. Press the Menu button and select Send > Bluetooth. When prompted to select a Device, select the recipient's BlackBerry smartphone.
