Unable to sign into Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 from a BlackBerry Smartphone using TCP/TLS as the transport protocol

When trying to login to BlackBerry® Client for use with Microsoft® Office Live Communications Server 2005 using TCP/TLS on a BlackBerry smartphone, the BlackBerry smartphone never connects and displays one of the following:

Connecting

Failed to execute your last action (-9)

Cannot connect to server

The BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 2.2 and above, for BlackBerry smartphones, does not support TCP/TLS as a transport protocol as it is being phased out.  BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 version 1.1.23 is the last version to support TCP/TLS.
