How to delete an application from the BlackBerry smartphone

To delete an application from a BlackBerry® smartphone running BlackBerry® Device Software 4.1 to 4.7, complete the following steps:

Display the Options menu from the Home screen. Click Advanced Options > Applications. Highlight the application to be deleted. Press the Menu key then click Delete. Click the option to Reboot Now if the option is presented on the BlackBerry smartphone.

To delete an application from a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0, complete the following steps:

Display the Options menu from the Home screen. Click Applications. Highlight the application to be deleted. Press the Menu key then click Delete. Click the option to Reboot Now if the option is presented on the BlackBerry smartphone.

To delete an application from a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry Device Software 6.0, complete the following steps:

Display the Options menu from the Home screen. Click Device > Application Management. Highlight the application to be deleted. Press the Menu key then click Delete. Click the option to Reboot Now if the option is presented on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Alternatively, to delete an application from the BlackBerry smartphone, perform the following steps:

On the BlackBerry smartphone, highlight the icon of the application to be removed. The application may be located in the Applications folder on the BlackBerry smartphone. Press the Menu key. Select Delete. To verify the application is removed: For BlackBerry® Device Software 4.1 to 4.7, select Options from the Home Screen, click Advanced Options > Applications and verify that the application is no longer listed. For BlackBerry Device Software 5.0, select Options from the Home Screen, click Applications and verify that the application is no longer listed. For BlackBerry Device Software 6.0, select Options from the Home Screen, click Device, click Application Management and verify that the application is no longer listed.
